Sarah attended high school at Professional Children's School in New York and graduated two years early with a 4.0. Sarah's first film break, An Invasion of Privacy, at the grand old age of Four..!. came three weeks after an agent discovered her whilst she was out with her parents dining at a local restaurant. This chance opportunity has led to a professional career which has continued almost without a break ever since, and continues to grow from strength to strength.

Sarah has been one of two regular hostesses of the TV talk show, "Girl Talk," Sarah has also appeared with Matthew Broderick and Eric Stoltz in The Widow Claire at the Circle in the Square. Sarah has had guest appearances on Spenser: For Hire, Love, Sidney, The David Letterman Show and The Regis Philbin Show.

She has done 100,s of commercials and has recently signed a contract with Maybelline on August 12th 1999, and will appear in all of their advertising campaigns. Sarah is the first celebrity since Linda Carter to become a spokeswoman for the make-up company.

She has also appeared in Crossbow filmed in France and Switzerland. Played Molly in the original cast of Neil Simon's Jake's Women and young Jacqueline Bouvier in the NBC mini-series A Woman Named Jackie. It was only when Sarah played the lead role of Sydney Rutledge in the teen soap opera, Swans Crossing. did she start to gain a small, fanbase.

On February 24th 1993. Sarah started work on All My Children A year later she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1994 and unfortunately did not win.The following year Sarah was re-nominated and on this occaision won. The category was - Younger Leading Actress. Sarah announced publicly the day after the Emmy win that she had decided to leave the show after 2 ½ years. Sarah left All My Children and moved to California to further her career in films and TV.

In 1996, Sarah auditioned for and beat off other hopefuls for the lead role in a new series called Buffy the Vampire Slayer, based on the movie by the same name. It was a mix of My so called life and The X-Files. Warner Brothers bought 13 episodes of the show, and ratings of the pilot were phenominal. The show has gone on to gain a 'cult status' with both young and old viewers. It has now ended it's fourth consecutive year and continues to grow in popularity. One of the shows characters 'Angel' has even had a spin off show called Angel starring David Boreanaz.

In March 1998, Sarah was nominated and won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for the Best Supporting Actress - Horror category for her role in IKWYDLS..

In June 1999 Sarah finished shooting I Know What You Did Last Summer, in which she stars with Jenniffer Love Hewitt as teenagers that try to cover up a hit and run in which they are involved. Released on October 17th it became number one that very same weekend. Not long afterwards Sarah was on the set of Scream 2, in Atlanta, GA, this time playing a slay-ee. The film had the largest December opening of any film and did financially better than the combined total of all of the other top 9 films. Sarahs next film sees her cast in the role of Kathryn Merteuil in Cruel Intentions. This film is a very clever adaptation on the 1782 Laclos novel. Sarah plays a rich and privileged student who becomes bored with playing with other peoples lives. It was definitely a shock to see Sarah as a drug-taking hypocrite, and who also kisses another girl. Sarah is to follow this with another film going by the name of Simply Irresistible, and don't we all agree she is.

Some other little suprises that not many people may know about are the curious facts that Sarah was the voice of ' Gwendy ' in Small Soldiers, amd a guest voice appearance on the cartoon series King of the Hill

As she was growing up Sarah was a competitive figure skater and was ranked 3rd in the New York Sate regional competition. Sarah is extremely keen on physical fitness aswell as having practised Tae Kwon Do for seven years.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys rollerblading, ice skating, water skiing, and cliff diving and scuba diving
